You’ve commissioned a Portrait session & now you’re not sure what to wear. Well here’s a few simple tips to help you on your way:-
- The most important feature of your portrait is going to be your face, so don’t wear anything that detracts the viewer from that (eg. loud patterned shirts)
- Wear long sleeve tops. Seeing a bare arm can often draw the viewers eye away from the face
- Speak to your photographer about the backgrounds they will be using & ask their advice on outfits
Here is an example where the young man first posed with a designer T-shirt. Noticing he had turned up in a black shirt I asked him to change back to the shirt. The result is the black shirt against the black background concentrates your eye on the face, giving much more impact the end portrait.
